Weird Unsocialized Homeschoolers

Kris Bales is the quirky, Christ-following, painfully honest voice behind Weird, Unsocialized Homeschoolers. She and her husband of over 25 years are parents to three amazing kids - one high schooler and two homeschool grads - and one son-in-law. Kris has a pretty serious addiction to sweet tea and Words with Friends. She also seems intent on becoming the crazy cat lady long before she's old and alone.

I’ve homeschooled our kids for more than a decade now, and I don’t really think they’re weird or unsocialized. (Well, maybe a little bit weird, but that’s more because they have me for a mom than the fact that they’re homeschoolers.) I just like mocking the stereotypes. It’s just how my warped sense of humor works.

I’ve got a serious side, which sometimes pokes its head out when I’m sharing my faith, homeschooling tips, resources, and encouragement. My goal is to be real and to write about the good, the bad, and the ugly of homeschooling. I love homeschooling my kids, and I wouldn’t trade this life for anything, but it’s not all rainbows and unicorns, and I won’t try to convince you otherwise.
